Fruit Salad

whoever said one bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch had no experience with apples.

if they had, they'd know that one bad apple spoils the whole bunch every time.

I mean after all, a little leaven leavens the whole lump. it doesn't just stay there leavening on its own.

bad company corrupts good character. it isn't enough to be bad alone. bad requires some territory.

there's no such thing as something being "a little bit wrong". No good will come from something that is not "right".

life as we know it may be temporary, but the rules and principles that are reality do not and have not changed.

one bad apple spoils the whole bunch. every time.

both for those looking on, and for those consuming. not to mention for the bananas, which are, after all, more likely to come in bunches than are apples, which are likely to be in bushes, pecks and hugs around the neck.

we have our apple. we have separated it from all other apples. there are no bunches here. we are past the point of no return...

jettison (part two).

some things are better left unsaid. and some are not. the time came when the decision was made to fight for what is mine. there is something i learned about fighting when i was a child. if you're going to fight, you have to do it until you cannot do it any longer. to the end. now, the end can come about in more ways than just the death of the enemy. it can come about the simple realization that they have no power over you except what you give. not that this is always the case, of course. slaves, captives, exploited people - they did not give up the power that keeps them enslaved, captive or taken advantage of. and, in some of those cases, it will take far more than just a 'realization'.

but when it comes to forgiveness, which is the theme of current postings, well, thats a matter of the heart. Of feeling. Of things that can't be put into words.

nevertheless, she tried.

I cannot nurture the flowers of lies
That line the path of your heart
I cannot mend the shattered mirrors
Reflecting the faces of your demons

I cannot heal tears and bruises
In the depths of your fractured soul
I cannot stay and feed this tragedy
It is not mine to embrace or endure

it is finished. those words were uttered by Christ, as He completed payment for the sin of the world. In this particular case, it seems appropriate to acknowledge He who began a good work, and is faithful to complete it, for it is only He that can heal what we leave behind. And, when we leave it behind, guess what? as we begin to see more clearly, we see that what we left behind was what was holding us back or down.

thanks donner.
